About/Contact Me

Hi I'm Sue.
I'm a crochet addict!
I love to design, create & make.
I'm here to share all of this
and so much more:

  • Crocheting
  • Crafting
  • Reading
  • Reviews
  • Giveaways
  • Life
  • Love
  • Family
  • Gadgets

I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
I learnt to crochet in Feb 2011 when my condition
meant that I had terrible pins and needles in my hands.
My doctor wanted to increase my medication but I decided to do
some research first.
After trawling the internet I found a few sites that recommended
crocheting or knitting.
Knitting and me haven't got on so far so I decided to give crocheting a go.
I found a video on you tube to teach me to make a teddy bear.
I made one for my beautiful son.
I then made lots of different things
but it wasn't fitting.
Then my son saw a picture of a dinosaur hat
and begged me to make him one.
I decided to give designing a go.
After starting to crochet I found a world where I could join in on Facebook.
From there I started reading other peoples blogs.
I loved the way you could share so much with like minded people.
I love to blog and since starting it's expanded.
Crochet maybe my main theme but family is a big part of my life
so I blog about them as well.
I love to review products/books/crochet patterns.
I am also a big advocate of handmade and help to promote handmade products
and crochet patterns as much as possible.

  1. Hi Sue, Oh my! I didn't know you were so busy every day with "what you doing Wednesday" etc.! I think you are addicted to blogging and Crochet too! - I wish I could join in more but I don't seem to have the time now with teaching crochet (which is really picking up) and house hunting too! Hopefully once I move then things will settle down and I can dedicate some more time to blogging and interactive blogging more importantly as I don't get to read many other blogs due to time limits but I do love to pop in and read yours!! Take care - Ali x

  3. Twitter just recommended you to me as someone that may have common interest. And I have to say I am touched by your perseverance in still keeping your self busy. I too found myself in a difficult situation that forced me to have to find my own way. My story is here http://www.squidoo.com/free-crochet-patterns-and-tutorials if your interested.

Seeing your wonderful patterns, I thought maybe you would like to form a partnership of some kind? I do crochet tutorials on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/Meladora1 check me out and see what you think. Maybe I can make a tutorial or two from you patterns, link them back to you, get you more views. Please let me know what you think. My email adress is Meladora1 at yahoo dot com I very much look forward to talking to you :)

    1. Hi Ali, would you consider to write a short write up about how crochet helped you Fibromyalgia and arthritis? The reason I asked, there are many benefits to crochet that helps in your condition. I have 2 friends that have similar limitations because of their fibro and I am looking to make a blog on my blog to give awareness for one and help for others.

  6. Hi Sue, Thank you for contacting me through Etsy, I was very interested to read your profile as I too also have Fibromyalgia. I find crocheting helps to relax me. I probably crochet for 7 hours per day but I break it down into three or more sessions so that I do not aggravate my wrist and hand problems. Janet x

    1. Janet,

Crocheting is brilliant for relaxation. I find that my mind relaxes and doesn't think and stress me out when I am crocheting.
