I've Made Friday Week 193

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you are all having a good week!
I am all excited because my birthday is coming up.
My mum and dad have arranged for my
auntie to come and look after my gran,
this means they can see me on my birthday :-).

We are also meant to be going for a meal
with my brother and his family.
It's really exciting because I don't
get to go out much.

Hubby is going to be clearing out
the loft as we are getting a new roof.
It's also exciting.

I should be doing so much
but I just can't get going.

I do have some things that I have finished.

I love my mandala.
It brightens up the table.

I also finished the Easter card for my niece.

Now it's time for linky love.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 192

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope your week is going well!

The weather has been beautiful.
It's changing again and going cold
but it was fantastic to see the sunshine.

I decided the house needed brightening
up for Spring.

It feels so nice to have some flowers
to see.
It just makes you want to smile.

I have also been decorating for Spring
and Easter.

I am making a blanket
this week.
I am trying to make one that
is full of bright colours.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.
Please add the pin to your post & check out a couple
of other people that are sharing their work

I've Made Friday Week 192

Good Morning everyone!

I'm afraid I'm writing this in advance.
I wanted to make sure that I didn't miss
a post for you.

I'm feeling a lot better than I was
and am managing to get back
to a little more normality.
It will take me a while to get back
to my normal but I'm so glad
to not be in severe pain anymore.

I have packed my hospital bag
just incase.
If I ever have another severe attack
again I'm all ready and don't
have to panic.
I like being organised.

The weather is all over the place at
the moment.
The gardens seem to think
that it is spring.

The council puts tubs out
with beautiful flowers in them.
It makes such a difference.
It really makes you smile.

I managed to finish my bag.
I haven't made a lining for it
as I was too tired but it does
it's job and I really like it.

I am so glad I took the Craftsy course
Aran crochet.
It inspired me to make the bag.
It's a perfect size for putting
all my medication in it.
I need it all in one place
that is easy to grab if I get
taken into hospital.

I have been listening to a book
called The Invisible Library
by Geneiveve Cogman.
I'm really enjoying it.
The library is in it's own space
and they go into other worlds
to collect books to be saved.
Irene is sent with a trainy to collect
a book for a world.
It isn't that simple and it will take everything
she has to be able to find and get the book.
It has magic, fae, dragons and so much more.

Now it's time for linky love.
Please feel free to share anything you've made.
  • Please visit other people to see what they have made.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 191

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope your week is going well!

As my health has been so up
and down lately I thought I would
type this in advance.

Things are going really well at the moment.
I see my illness as a blip to make me rest.
I am starting to see everything in a positive light.
If my gallbladder hadn't played up I wouldn't
of gone into hospital and met some wonderful people.
I also think it has brought my family closer together.
My mum and dad helped me so much and I
think that made a huge difference to them.
I have always tried to be independent
and I have sometimes paid the price for that.
My mum and dad came when I really needed them
and for once I let down my wall and admitted
I needed help.
It isn't that bad admitting you need help,
it actually made me feel very loved.

Anyway I've waffled at you enough.
I'm making a bag inspired by the Craftsy course
Aran Crochet.

My plan is to crochet enough so it makes
the front, back and flap.
Then I will make sides and sew it all together.
I then want to make a lining.
I also want to make a pocket for the back.
Red Monsters friend says I should crochet
one that looks like the red medical cross.
That way everyone knows it's my medication.

I haven't made anything else this week.
I want to concentrate on my bag
and try and get it finished.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.

I am new to quilting and I have to say
this book is brilliant.
I have found following the instructions
and techniques so easy.
It guides you through everything.

I was astounded by the amount of information.
It covers so much and makes you much
more confident quilting.

I don't normally take to books so much
but this one really does what it says.
I love the fact that it talks you through
everything and gives you so much
information of each stage.

There are a lot of things I have been trying
but have found difficult.
I have found instructions in the book
that have made it so much easier.

There are photos and diagrams
throughout the book,
they are clear and easy to follow.

The first part of the book is taken
up with all the how to's and instructions.
Then it moves onto different quilt patterns
and how to make them.
I love the fact that they even have arrows
to help you with your assembly.
I haven't seen this in a book before.

Even when you are making the quilts
they still provide helpful pictures
and instructions.

If you already quilt then it doesn't
matter, you still have all the quilts
and designs you can make.

I found this book really useful!

The book is hard-backed so that you can

The book is quite large as there is just so much
information held within.
The pages are smooth and soft and hard-wearing.
This is a book you just know it's quality.
