The Knitted Nursery Collection ~ Search Press ~ Book Review

by Jem Weston

ISBN: 9781782213178
Publisher: Search Press
Publication Date: 02 January 2016
RRP: £9.99

Available direct from Search Press.

The most amazing touching designs.
I love this book.
If you are having a baby or you want
to make something as a gift,
this book is brilliant.

Each of the designs are so special and
can be used together in the nursery
or around the house.
The pillows and blankets could be used
around the house.

There is nothing more special than
something made with love.
Making these designs just add something even more.

I love the touching way the animal designs have been used.
They are classic designs that won't go out of fashion.

Each of the patterns is in written format.
Most of the patterns use basic stitches
and use the colours to create the designs.

To be honest I love the designs so much
I won't just be making them as presents for babies.
I'm going to make a few of them for my house.
I have already ordered the yarn to make
the owl pillow and the squirrel blanket.

A book full of touching and beautiful designs.

Indian Blanket ~ Annie's ~ Book Review

Designed by Jane Hadden

ISBN: 9781573679510
Publisher: Annie's
Publication Date: 26 November 2015
RRP: £4.99

Available direct from Search Press.

There are some designs in life that just speak
for themselves.
Jane's Indian blanket is one of them.
Her beautiful rendition conjures up
thoughts of the old west and painted sunsets.
The design honours the Indian Art Form.

The colours she brings together create
a magnificent look that you will be able
to create for yourself.

All you need is the worsted weight yarn,
a g hook (or the hook required to achieve the guage)
and a tapestry needle.

13 different colours are used in the design
and you need varying amounts of each.

The whole of the design is worked in a sc
and by only crocheting in the front side.
This is also how the tassles are created
at each side of the blanket.

The pattern itself is in written terms
but the actual colours you will be crocheting
are in a graph chart format.
It will take concentration to get this
blanket correct but it will be well worth the effort!

A fantastic design that really does look
like a piece of Indian Artwork.

I've Made Friday Week 185

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you are having a good week
and looking forward to the weekend.

Wow what a week.
I am starting to feel a bit more like me.
I am super excited to tell you
that I managed to design something :-).
This is a big step for me.

I designed a hooded cowl.
It's called;
Night & Day Hooded Cowl.

I will have the free pattern for you soon.
It's made using Manos del Uruguay
Wool Clasica.
It's handspun pure wool that has
been kettle died.

This yarn is from Xena Knits

Benji has had such fun going out in the mud

He has been meeting up with his friends
Tilly & Rocky

Tilly is my favorite.
She is super cute and super cheeky :-)

I finished William I.

Into The Jungle ~ Annie's ~ Book Review

Designs by Cindy Cseh

Publication Date: 01 June 2015
RRP: £7.99

WOW!
I love this book and I love these patterns.
They make up such an amazingly cute
toy that would be brilliant to give to
any child.

Each of the animals is super fun and super cute.
It's a fantastic toy that just makes you
want to smile!

You start off making the centre palm tree
and then move onto each of the animals.
At the bottom you have the giraffe, then
elephant, lion, tiger & monkey.

When the whole toy is finished it measures 17" tall.

The pattern uses Red Heart Super Saver
medium Worsted weight yarn.
So it really isn't going to break the bank.
You need a 5.5mm crochet hook, tapestry needle,
stitch marker, 12" tall plastic foam cone
& fibrefill.

The pattern calls for a confident beginner
so it's something that most crocheters
would be able to make.

Each part of the patterns is in written format
in an easy clear and concise way.
Each animal etc. has it's own section in
the pattern book and is broken down
into the different parts.
There are pattern notes to help as well
a full stitch guide to help you along.

I would highly recommend this book.
The design is great fun and would make
brilliant gifts!
