Maggie found an old quilt.
From this quilt she has been inspired to design
and write this book.
She has brought together an amazing mix of projects
with a theme and colours running through them.
I can honestly say I just love looking at this book.
It has such warmth and homely feel about it.
I love her use of natural materials and different techniques
to design projects that are simply inspirational.
I can honestly say that I want to make everything
in this book.
I love the muted tones that bring each of the
projects together.
I don't think the book is for a beginner sewer/quilter
but if you are already a sewer/quilter I am sure
you will enjoy this book.
Each of the projects has a materials list
and instructions for cutting the project
and how to assemble it.
At the back of the book patterns of each
of the projects.
There is a fantastic mix of projects to make;
- Thistle Down Moon Wool Mat
- Thistle Down Moon Hooked Rug
- Anna of Bellingham, 1812, Sampler
- Think-of-Me Heart Sewing Case
- Old Velvet Pincushions
- Sweet Velvet Peapod Pinkeep
- Wall-Hung Sewing Necessity
- Penny-Topped Stools
- Little Pocket Necklace
- Easy Folded Linen Pocket
- My Little Hanging Garden
- Butcher's Apron
- Four Garden Pillows
- Flowerbed Quilt
- One Old Flower on Wool Pillow
- Flowers on the Windowsill Wool Mat
- Wood Frame
- Remains of the Day Tablerunner
I love this book.
The designs of the pages and the pictures
reflect the beautiful look of the projects.
The projects bring such a feeling of home
in them.
They have such a simple look to them but with
such a beautiful picture of nature.
Maggie has used a mix of materials
to create a unique look that runs
right through the book.
The feeling throughout the book
is a feeling of nature, peace and beauty.
A truly thoughtful and beautiful book.
