Items required

4mm (6) hook. . If you don’t have a 4mm hook use a 4.25mm (G) hook instead.

Green & White (or colour of choice) acrylic Double knit (8 ply) yarn

Guidelines

HK – hook                                           CH – chain                           SS – Slip Stitch

SC –                       Single crochet                                    ST - Stitch

SC Inc –                Single Crochet Increase. Increase by placing 2 sc in 1 stitch.

SC Dec –               Single Crochet Decrease. Hook through 1st stitch, yarn over hook, pull hook through, hook through next stitch, yarn over hook, pull through. Yarn over hook and through all the loops.

HDC -                     Half Double Crochet

HDC INC -            Half Double Crochet Increase. Increase by placing 2 hdc in 1 stitch

HDC Dec –           Half double crochet decrease.  Yarn over hook, through 1^st stitch, yarn over hook through, yarn over hook, through next stitch, yarn over hook pull through.  Yarn over hook and pull through all the loops. 

Gauge

7 sts & 6 rows = 2”

Using 4mm (G) hook and green yarn. 

Ch 8

 Round 1) 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hk, 4 hdc, 4 hdc in last ch, carry on around the other side of the starting ch, 4 hdc, 3 hdc in the last ch, ss to 1st hdc (16)

 Round 2) Ch 2 (Counts as 1st st on all rounds for the foot), 1 hdc in same st, 5 hdc, 3 hdc inc, 5 hdc, 2 hdc inc, ss to top of ch 2 (22)

 Round 3) Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc inc, 6 hdc, 5 hdc inc, 6 hdc, 3 hdc inc, ss to join to the top of ch 2 (32)

 Round 4) Ch 2, 1 hdc in the same st, 2 hdc inc, 8 hdc, 8 hdc inc, 8 hdc, 5 hdc inc, ss to join to the top of Ch 2 (48)

 Round 5 - 9)       Ch 2, 1 hdc in nxt st, 46 hdc, ss to join to the top of ch 2 (48)

 Round 10) Ch 2, 1 hdc in in same st, 3 hdc inc, 18 hdc, 6 hdc inc, 18 hdc, 2 hdc inc, ss to the top of the Ch 2 (60)

 Round 11 - 17)          Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 58 hdc, ss to join to top of Ch 2 (60)

 Round 18) Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 6 hdc, 1 hdc dec, *8 hdc, 1 hdc dec* repeat around, ss to join to top of Ch 2 (54)

 Round 19) Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 5 hdc, 1 hdc dec, *7 hdc, 1 hdc dec* around, ss to join to the top of the Ch 2 (48)

 Round 20) Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 4 hdc, 1 hdc dec, *6 hdc, 1 hdc dec* around, ss to join to the top of the Ch 2 (42)

 Round 21) Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 3 hdc, 1 hdc dec, *5 hdc, 1 hdc dec* around, ss to join to the top of Ch 2 (36)

 Round 22) Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, *4 hdc, 1 hdc dec* around, ss to join to the top of Ch 2 (30)

Stuff the foot

 Round 24) Ch 2, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc dec, *2 hdc, 1 hdc dec* around, ss to join to the top of Ch 2 (18)

 Round 25) Ch 2, 1 hdc dec, *1 hdc, 1 hdc dec* around, ss to join to the top of the Ch 2 (12)

Add stuffing if required, close the hole by sewing together, finish

Toes x 4

4 mm (6) hook, Green Yarn

Ch 2

 Round 1) 6 hdc in 2nd ch from hk (6) (continue in the round using a stitch marker to mark the start of each round)

 Round 2) 6 hdc inc (12)

 Round 3 - 4)  12 hdc

 Round 5) 5 hdc, 2 hdc dec, 3 hdc (10)

 Round 6) 10 hdc (10)

 Round 7) 3 hdc, 2 hdc dec, 3 hdc (8)

 Round 8) 8 hdc (8)

 Round 9) 8 hdc, finish leaving tail to sew to foot (8)

Nails x 4

Ch 2

 Round 1) 3 hdc in 2nd ch from hk (3)

 Round 2) 3 hdc inc (6)

 Round 4) *1 hdc, 1 hdc dec* x 2, finish, leave tail to sew to toe (4)

Attachment

This is the square that you make to attach the foot to the bench, this may need altering to the size of your bench.

5 mm (H) hook & Green Yarn

Have a long starting tail so that you can sew the foot to the attachment.

Ch 22

 Row 1) 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hk, 19 hdc, Ch 2 (doesn’t count as st), turn(20)

 Row 2 - 20)                          20 hdc, ch 2, turn (20)

 Row 21) 20 hdc, finish, leave tail to sew the attachment to the bench (20)

Sew nail to toes

Stuff toes & sew to foot

Sew attachment to foot
