Yarn Bombing Monster Bench Foot ~ Free Crochet Pattern

 Yarn Bombing Monster Bench Foot



The pattern is in US terms
Items required
5mm (H) hook
Green & White (or colour of choice) acrylic Double knit (8 ply) yarn
Stitch marker
Stuffing
Wool needle

Guidelines
At the end of each round just carry on, do not join with a slip stitch. 
Mark the start of each round and then move marker as a round is completed.
HK – hook                                           CH – chain                           SS – Slip Stitch
SC –                       Single crochet                                   
SC Inc –                Single Crochet Increase. Increase by placing 2 sc in 1 stitch.
SC Dec –               Single Crochet Decrease. Hook through 1st stitch, yarn over hook, pull hook through, hook through next stitch, yarn over hook, pull through. Yarn over hook and through all the loops.
HDC -                     Half Double Crochet
Gauge
7 sts & 6 rows = 2”

Monster Foot
Using 5mm (H) hook and green yarn.
Ch 6
Round 1) 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc, 3 sc in last ch, carry on down the other side of the starting chain, 3 sc, 2 sc in last ch (12)
Round 2) 1 sc inc, 3 sc, 2 sc inc, 3 sc, 2 sc inc (18)
Round 3) 1 sc inc, 6 sc, 3 sc inc, 6 sc, 2 sc inc (24)
Round 4 - 6)    24 sc (24)
Round 7) 1 sc inc, 9 sc, 3 sc inc, 9 sc, 2 sc inc (30)
Round 8 - 10)    30 sc (30)
Round 11) 1 sc inc, 12 sc, 3 sc inc, 12 sc, 2 sc inc (36)
Round 12 – 14)    36 sc (36)
Round 15) 1 sc inc, 15 sc, 3 sc inc, 15 sc, 2 sc inc (42)

Round 33) 36 sc (36)
Round 34         6 sc, ch 2, miss 24 st, 6 sc (this is to make the 1st toe, we will go back to row 33) to make the next toes) (14)



Round 35 -37)    14 sc around (14)
Round 38) 1 sc dec, 5 sc, 1 sc dec, 5 sc (12)
Round 39) 1 sc dec, 4 sc, 1 sc dec, 4 sc (10)
Round 40) 1 sc dec, 3 sc, 1 sc dec, 3 sc (8)
Round 41) 1 sc dec, 2 sc, 1 sc dec, 2 sc (6)
Round 42) 3 sc dec, sew the gap together, finish, leave a tail to sew the toes together (3)

Stuff foot & 1st toe


Round 43) Join with ch 1 to next st available on round 33 (counts as 1st st) 5 sc, ch 1, miss 12 st, 6 sc, ch 1 (14)
Round 44 - 46)    14 sc (14)
Round 47 – 51)       repeat rounds 38 – 42) 

Stuff 2nd toe

Round 52) Join with ch 1 to next st not used on row 33, 11 sc, ch2 (when you start the next round start at the ch 1 (14)
Round 53 – 55)    14 sc (14)
Round 56) 1 sc dec, 5 sc, 1 sc dec, 5 sc (12)
Round 57) 1 sc dec, 4 sc, 1 sc dec, 4 sc (10)
Round 58) 1 sc dec, 3 sc, 1 sc dec, 3 sc (8)

Stuff toe

Round 59) 1 sc dec, 2 sc, 1 sc, dec, 2 sc (6)
Round 60) 3 sc dec, stuff, sew gap together, finish, leave tail to sew toes together.

Sew any gaps in the toes together.



Nails x 3
5 mm (H) hook & White Yarn
Ch 2
Round 1) 3 sc in 2nd ch from hk (3)
Round 2) 3 sc (3)
Round 3) 3 sc, finish, leave tail to sew the nails to the feet


Attachment
This is the square that you make to attach the foot to the bench, this may need altering to the size of your bench.
5 mm (H) hook & Green Yarn
Have a long starting tail so that you can sew the foot to the attachment.
Ch 22
Row 1) 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hk, 19 hdc, Ch 2 (doesn’t count as st), turn(20)
Row 2 - 20)                           20 hdc, ch 2, turn (20)
Row 21) 20 hdc, finish, leave tail to sew the attachment to the bench (20)




 Attach the foot to the attachment
