I love buying books that can open a whole new world to someone.
I love to crochet and I love to spread that love to other people.
At the moment I am teaching a 12 year old girl to crochet.
I can only meet her every couple of weeks so books like
this are ideal.
It means she can carry on learning in the gap between us meeting.
The book is split into chapters dealing with each
part of learning to crochet:
Getting to Know Your Materials
Getting Started: Forget the Chain.
Chains: Your Foundation
Basic Crochet Stitches
Gauge
Working in the Round
Perfecting Techniques
Pattern Reading
The book takes you step-by-step through each stage.
There are easy to understand instructions and pictures
to help you on your way.
The book is in a really to ease format and is ideal
for most ages.
There is also information that can help someone who already crochets.
The book describes each stitch, how it should look on both sides
of the project to the different parts of the stitch.
After completing this book the learner will
be well equipped to deal with most projects
that they decide to make.
This is also the sort of book that if you
aren't sure you are doing something right,
you can easily pick it up and check.
I especially love the Perfecting Techniques section.
The different hints and tips for finishing techniques are brilliant.
I think anyone who purchases or receives this book
will love it.
They are sure to learn to crochet in an easy relaxed format :-)
I received a copy of the book to review.
However all opinions expressed are my own.
