I've Made Friday Week 121

Good Morning everyone!

I am getting super excited about Halloween!
Little Red is on half term that week
so we are going to have lots of fun making different things.
Well that is if he lets me :-).

We bought him the new Skylanders - Trap Team.
I wish I had pictures but unfortunately I didn't get chance.
He was at school so I took the figures with me.
I hid them behind my back.
When I brought them out he stood in silence for a few seconds
in disbelief.
Then he grabbed them and went running round the school yard
shouting yes, yes,and lots of other noises.
He was soo excited.
Normally he is a scaredy cat when it comes to going upstairs on his own.
He seems to have overcome that so he can play the game.

I've got a few makes this week as I am on
the Halloween make it challenge :-)
I know this isn't Halloween
but I made it for a pattern review.
I think I'm going to make one for each of the family
for Christmas this year.

I made a skull
I must admit I did struggle with the pattern at times.
Partly due to the fact that some of the stitches used
I hadn't heard of previously qc.
There was also some mistakes.
The amount of stitches didn't always match up to the previous row.
I fudged it a bit but luckily it turned out okay.
The shaping and detail in the pattern is fantastic.

I also finished the hats for my niece.

I'm enjoying making things for Halloween so much!
I'm also really excited about what I want to start making for Christmas.

I've read:
The Crow Trap
by Ann Cleeves

This is one of the Vera Stanhope series.
I am really enjoying the tv series but reading
the books is soo much better,
The story stems around a quarry that is proposed.
The story has lots of twists and turns.
You are constantly guessing about who could be the murderer
and what is going to happen next.
The characters are well written and Vera is the ultimate character.
She is an inspector but not like any other.
The difference with the tv show and the book is you
get her thoughts in her head.
It makes a huge difference to how you see the character
and the story.
I would highly recommend this series of books!
I have already downloaded the next book.

  2. I made pumpkin hats for our granddaughter. I called her my Little Pumpkin as she was born on Halloween ... she'll be 5 this year.
