The Knook Complete Set Value Pack ~ Product Review

Knook landing page for beginner and extended edition  http://www.leisurearts.com/categories/craft/the-knook.html

As you all know by now I am a huge fan of the Knook!
I previously bought the Bamboo Knook set
and  LeisureArts.com were kind enough to ask me to review the new
plastic Knook set and to see what the difference was.

To be honest although I am a huge fan of bamboo hooks
I think for the Knook the plastic hooks are better.

With the bamboo hooks they would catch on the cord and on the yarn.
With the plastic hooks it's all plain sailing I haven't caught either once!
I love the different weights of cord as with larger projects the thicker cords
will work out better.

You get plastic Knooks in sizes 3.5 mm, 3.75 mm, 4.0 mm, 4.5 mm,
5.0 mm, 5.5 mm, 6.0 mm, 6.5 mm, 8.0 mm, and 9.0 mm.
To coordinate, there are two heavy cords (48" and 60" lengths),
five medium cords (one 36", two 48", and two 60" lengths),
and three small cords (one 36" and two 48" lengths).

The basics of the Knook are you knit your stitches onto the hook.

Once the stitches are on the hook pull the string through.
Then push the stitches back onto the string.

Then you start again knooking the stitches back onto the hook.

The fantastic think about Knooking is it doesn't take up much space.
When you want to stop for a while just use a clip to hold the ends of the cord.
This way none of the stitches can come off and then fold it up.
I find I can put a small project in my handbag and take it with me wherever I go.

I think the knook is fantastic value for money!
I love the fact that it doesn't cause problems for my weak hand.
Knooking is easy to learn and if you are struggling LeisureArts.com
has videos available to watch to make it even easier.

The above item I am making is just a basic pattern using the knit stitch
and every other row starting with a purl stitch and ending with a knit, purl increase.
As you can see from my pictures it's really effective and no-one can tell that it isn't knitted.

I can't wait to make more and more items with my Knook!!!
