Ruffled Rose ~ Free Crochet Pattern

Ruffled Rose


The pattern is in US terms
Items required
5 mm (H) hook
Lhasa Wilderness, Yak / Bamboo Blend (2oz (56 grams) provides 180 yards, 16 wpi or light sport weight, No.4 -5 needles, 6 stitches per inch) available from Bijou Basin Ranch
Wool needle

Guidelines
HK – hook                                                CH – chain              SK - Skip       SS - Slip Stitch    
SC –                      Single crochet            HDC –       Half Double Crochet            
 ** - repeat    () in the same stitch
Approximate Size
7 1/2cm (3")

Ruffled Rose
Ch 52
Row 1)   1 hdc in 3rd ch from hk, 49hdc, ch 1, turn (50)
Row 2)   5 sc, 45 hdc, ch 2, turn (50)
Row 3)   40 hdc, 10 sc, ch 1, turn (50)
Row 4)   15 sc, 35 hdc, ch 2, turn (50)
Row 5)   30 hdc, 15 dc, 5 ss, turn (50)
Row 6)   sk 1st ss, 4 ss, 20 sc, 25 hdc, ch 1, turn (49)
Row 7)   *1 ss, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 ss* x 9, 1 ss, finish (46) (leave enough yarn to sew the flower together) 

Once your piece looks like this you need to feed the yarn using a needle through every other stitch on the bottom row.


As you go along the row pull the yarn to ruffle the rose and start shaping it with the starting shorter end being the middle of the rose.


Once you have the Rose in the required shape sew the flower together to keep it in place.


You Rose is now finished.
You can use it to decorate an item or add a pin or clip.
