What You Doing Wednesday Week 98

I hope your week is going well!

The Sun has arrived!!!!
Wow the world seems such a better place when the sun shines.
Our garden is a mess and needs tidying up
but the beauty is still shinning through.

The flowers and the sun just want to make me smile.

Life has been a little rough lately.
I've been burying my head and some stressful circumstances
have made me face up to everything.
I've been trying to be "normal"
but I'm not. I have a disability and it effects my life
but it has also enriched my life.
The honest truth is it effects my life a lot more than I let on.
I sleep, live, eat etc downstairs and have done for the last 12 months.
My husband has to do all the cooking and shopping.
It's been really hard for him as he has to work full-time
and do loads of the jobs I used to do.
This isn't a pity party I just wanted to explain more about why things
are up and down on the blog.
I had a dream that I was going to work for myself so I could
manage my illness but it isn't a possibility.
I was going to blog for money and sell my patterns
and I was going to earn enough and still be able to cope with my illness.
This didn't work out.
The more pressure I put on myself the worse I got.
I have lost the use of a limb a number of times now due to severe pain.
Life is about this at the moment:

So after a lot of soul searching and facing up to the truth I've made a few decisions.
I'm taking the pressure off me and making this about fun.
I'm still going to be blogging and I'm still going to be crocheting, designing, crafting etc.
the difference is it's just going to be for fun.
It will probably seem the same to you but to me it's completely different.
I'm still going to sell my patterns and be an affiliate to a few companies.
The difference is there are no ads and no paid posts.
Everything I earn will be used to fund my yarn and the blog and I'll stay in the red.
I'm not going to worry about making this a "success".
I'll worry about keeping you all enjoying my blog and what I want to design
but the rest of the weight I have lifted off myself.
It's going to be hard financially but I have to embrace me and who I am now.

After all that waffle I have some really exciting news!!!!
I'm getting a spinning wheel :-).
I have a big birthday coming up and my family
have helped to put towards a spinning wheel for me.
Little Red has already named her Scooby.

 Isn't she beautiful!!!
I won her on an auction site and I am hoping she will be with me the beginning of next week.
I'm not sure how successful I will be but I'm really looking forward to the challenge.
Hubby said I'm not allowed to start spinning till my birthday
but we'll wait and see ;-).

I've got some things I'm making this week:
This is going to be a sheep believe it or not.
I am making it for my niece for her Easter Present.
I bought the pattern off Dione Design.
Hopefully it should look something like this:

I bought her 3 pattern pack on Etsy.
You choose your 3 patterns for a discounted price.

I also bought the teddy:

And the Dragon to make for my son:

This is how far I've got so far:
Of course it had to be red for Little Red :-)

I'll have to let you know about the book I'm reading on Friday.
Little Red is off ill with a nasty cough so things are
a bit up in the air today.

Now it's your turn to share what you are doing.
It doesn't have to be crochet, anything you are making
is perfect.
Please add the pin to your post & check out a couple
of other people that are sharing their work

  5. Susan, I had to do the exact same thing. Closed Crochet Happy but still wanted to blog just for the fun of it since I feel that it helps me in my daily life...but no longer wanted or needed the stress of deadlines or earnings or being responsible to other people...started Tracy's Crochet Bliss. I blog when I want to (usually at least once a week) and just don't worry about the rest. I know I made the right choice for me and I hope you find the same for yourself :)

    1. I miss you, Tracy. I closed up all my affiliate marketing. It was not worth mentioning in my taxes.

  6. I can't get that Linky thing to work. They can't connect to my site or they have something missing in my picture. What the heck! But you are on my website, so that is good enough.
