This book is geared at anyone of any age
who may never have used a sewing machine
or even threaded a needle before.

Choly has written this book in a format that is easy to understand
and doesn't feel like an encyclopedia.
As a none sewer this book has me really excited.

I have always been scared of sewing machines.
Just looking at them worries me
and picking the right fabric for the right project
just feels me with worry.

With Choly's help I don't feel as worried now.
She talks you through everything in an easy to understand manner.
She even talks about what features you'll need in a sewing
machine so you don't waste your money.

All fabrics are explained including how easy they are to work with.
She also explains what projects the different materials
are best for.

Everything is in an easy to read format and she gives you
loads of easy to follow charts making it easier
to decide on each part of a project.

She explains to you in an easy to read format all the different tools you will use.
Covering everything from the sewing machine, needles, markers, scissors etc.
I love the way she explains every part of a sewing machine
so that it doesn't seem to be scary anymore.

All through the book there are drawings and pictures
so you can see exactly what she is talking about.

All the stitches are explained including what you
will use them for.

Choly has split the projects down with a star system.
The projects range from someone who has never
picked up a needle to "you feel like you're in the zone
& you're ready to take on anything"

Choly doesn't miss out anything and talks you through
the whole process from patterns to the making.

From the start you have different projects to learn your skills with.
As you feel more confident you will be able to move onto
the next set of projects and the next set of skills.

With each new technique you learn you are given clear easy to understand
instructions, step-by-step pictures, drawings
and explanations.

Choly even gives you examples of things that might go wrong
and what you need to do if they do.

I also love the fact she gives you little cheat sheets so that you
can easily replicate the projects again.

At the start of each project you are given the skill level,
the estimated time it will take for you to make it,
what techniques you'll be using & what size it makes.

You get the details of what materials & tools you will need
and what prep work you'll need to do.
I also love the fact that not only are you shown
the knitting machine techniques you are also
shown hand sewing techniques.

All the patterns for the projects are included in the book.
This book has inspired me that much that I have
already asked my mum if I can borrow her sewing machine.

I have decided I want to make myself a pincushion
and then if that's successful then who knows.
I am so glad I was sent this book to review as
I think it's going to be opening a new chapter to my crafting.

If you want to learn how to sew or want to expand
you skills and projects then this is an ideal book.
