The pattern is in US terms
Items required 
5mm (H) hook.
Andaw Alpaca’s Pure Devon Alpaca 4ply (100% undyed Alpaca)
Stitch marker
Wool needle

Guidelines
At the end of each round just carry on, do not join with a slip stitch.
Mark the start of each round and then move marker as a round is completed.
HK – hook CH – chain SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single crochet
SC Inc – Single Crochet Increase. Increase by placing 2 sc in 1 stitch.
SC Dec – Single Crochet Decrease. Hook through 1st stitch, yarn over hook, pull hook through, hook through next stitch, yarn over hook, pull through. Yarn over hook and through all the loops.
HDC – half double crochet
HDC Inc – Half double crochet Increase.  Increase by placing 2 hdc in 1 stitch.
HDC Dec – Half double crochet decrease.  Yarn over hook, through 1st stitch, yarn over hook through, yarn over hook, through next stitch, yarn over hook pull through.  Yarn over hook and pull through all the loops.
HDCCS - Half Double Cross Stitch – Yarn over hook, miss 1 st, Insert hook into next st, yarn over, pull loop through. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook. Yarn over, insert the hook into the missed stitch, yarn over, pull through. Yarn over and pull through all the loops on the hook. You have now created a cross stitch. To create the next stitch miss the next available stitch as above.

() stitches within are crocheted into one stitch
Gauge
7 sts & 7 rows = 2” – one size fits most women. Gauge is for one row of hdc and one row of sc repeated.
Weight & Yardage
65g – 75g 260 – 300 yards

HAT
Using 5mm (H) hook and  yarn.
Ch 3 (or use magic circle)
Round 1) 6 hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook (6)
Round 2) 6 sc inc (12)
Round 3) *1 hdc inc, 1 hdc* x 6 (18)
Round 4) *2 sc, 1 sc inc* x 6 (24)
Round 5) *1 hdc, 1 hdc inc, 2 hdc* x 6 (30)
Round 6) *1 sc inc, 4 sc* x 6 (36)
Round 7) *5 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (42)
Round 8) *3 sc, 1 sc inc, 3 sc* x 6 (48)
Round 9) *1 hdc inc, 7 hdc* x 6 (54)
Round 10) *8 sc, 1 sc inc* x 6 (60)
Round 11) *2 hdc, 1 hdc inc, 7 hdc* x 6 (66)
Round 12) *1 sc inc, 10 sc* x 6 (72)
Round 13) *5 hdc, 1 hdc inc, 6 hdc* x 6 (78)
Round 14) *12 sc, 1 sc inc* x 6 (84)
Round 15) 84 hdc (84)
Round 16) 84 sc (84)
