Nim's Island ~ Book Review

When I heard of the scheme Room To Grow Book Share Scheme
I just know we wanted to be part of it.
The scheme runs from November to February.

The scheme's message is:
"If Room To Grow can help even a single
child understand or maintain
the joy of reading & create an
everlasting affection of books,
then that can only be a good thing"

Anne Davies, Room to Grow

We love to read and with Little Red being dyslexic
we want him to keep enjoying it.

The scheme send you a book and you have 14 days to return it.
It costs you nothing and a prepaid envelope
is supplied for you to return the book.

Once the scheme is over the books are going to be donated
to a children's charity.
So the spread of the joy of reading can carry on.

We Received the book:
Nim's Island

If you love to read to your children or your children
love to read exciting books then this is an excellent book to choose.
Everynight Little Red wanted me to read more and more chapters
each evening.
This book hooks you from the start.

There aren't many pictures in the book but the ones
that are there are fun and interesting.
This seemed like a story for girls when we first started
but soon after Little Red was as ingrossed in the story just as much as I was.

The story is about a little girl called Nim who lives
on an Island with her dad Jack and all their animal friends.
Jack goes on a science expedition by boat but he doesn't return
when he should.
During the time she is on her own on the island she answers
Jacks emails and gets to know an author called Alex.
The story takes you through all the ups and downs
of everything that happens to Nim and her friends.
It keeps you gripped and we couldn't wait to find out what happens next.
I would highly recommend this book
and we will be reading the 2nd book.
