Snowman Beanie Hat 1 yr+

The pattern is in US terms
Items required 
5mm (H) hook & 4.5mm (7) Hook.  If you don’t have a 4.5mm hook use a 4.25mm (G) hook instead.
Double knit (8ply) white, orange & black yarn
Stitch marker
Wool needle
2 x 20mm Black buttons

Guidelines
At the end of each round just carry on, do not join with a slip stitch.
Mark the start of each round and then move marker as a round is completed.
HK - hook
CH - chain
SS – Slip Stitch
HDC – half double crochet
HDC Inc – Half double crochet Increase.  Increase by placing 2 hdc in 1 stitch.
HDC Dec – Half double crochet decrease.  Yarn over hook, through 1st stitch, yarn over hook through, hook through next stitch, yarn over hook pull through.  Yarn over hook and pull through all the loops.
Gauge
7 sts & 6 rows = 2”
If your hat is coming out too big go down one hook size and vice versa if it’s too small.

  " 18" - 20" 8"
3 – 10 years cm 48.26cm - 50.07cm 21.59cm
  " 19" - 20.5" 8.5"
10 years + cm 50.7cm - 55.8cm 22.86cm - 25.4 cm
  " 20.5" - 22" 9" - 10"
BASIC HAT
Using 5mm (H) hook and white yarn.
Ch 2 (or use magic circle)
 Round 1) 6 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook (6)
 Round 2) 6 hdc inc (12)
 Round 3) *1 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (18)
 Round 4) *2 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (24)
 Round 5) *3 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (30)
 Round 6) *4 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (36)
 Round 7) *5 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (42)
 Round 8) *6 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (48)
 Round 9) *7 hdc, 1 hdc inc * x 6 (54)
 Round 10) *8 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (60) (1 -3 yrs go to round  13)
 Round 11) *9hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (66) (3 – 10yrs go to row 13)
 Round 12) *10 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (72)
 Round 13) hdc around (66) (1 – 3 yrs 60, 3 – 10 yrs 66, 10 yrs+ 72)

You need another 13 rounds for each of the sizes.
(total quantity of rounds  1 – 3 yrs 24, 3 – 10 yrs 25, 10 yrs+ 26)
When you have finished the above slip stitch x 2, finish.

Nose
Orange yarn & 4.5mm (7) Hook
 Round 1) Ch 10, ss to join
 Round 2) Ch 2, 10 hdc, ss to join
 Round 3) Ch 2, 10 hdc, ss to join
 Round 4) Ch 2, 10 hdc, ss to join
 Round 5) Ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 8 hdc, ss to join
 Round 6) Ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 7 hdc, ss to join
 Round 7) Ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 6 hdc, ss to join
 Round 8) Ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 5 hdc, ss to join
 Round 9) hdc dec until it comes to a point, finish.
Attach Nose to hat (remember to stuff before attaching)

Mouth x 4
Black Yarn & 4.5mm (7) Hook
Ch 2
Round 1) 6 hdc in 2nd ch from hk, ss, finish
Attach to hat

Your Hat should now be finished 
