Items required
4mm (6) and 5mm (H) hook. If you don’t have a 4mm hook use a 4.25mm (G) hook instead.
Aran (10ply) cream yarn. Double Knit (8 ply) yarn can be used instead.
Double knit (8 ply) Beige, Orange & Black yarn

Guidelines
hk - hook
ch - chain
ss – Slip Stitch
hdc – half double crochet
Hdc inc – Increase by 2 half double crochet in the stitch
Hdc dec – Half double crochet decrease. Yarn over hook, through 1st stitch, yarn over hook through, hook through next stitch, yarn over hook pull through. Yarn over hook and pull through all the loops.
Basic Bib
Using 5mm (H) hook and white yarn.
Ch 26
Row 1) 1 hdc in 3rd ch hk, 23 hdc, ch 2, turn
Row 2 - 18) 24 hdc, ch 2, turn
Row 19) 24 hdc, ch 31, turn
Row 20) 1 hdc 3rd ch hk, 52 hdc all the way to the end, ch 2, turn
Row 21) 53 hdc across, ch 2, turn
Row 22) 3 hdc, ch 1, miss st, 49 hdc, ch 2, turn
Row 23) 53 hdc across, finish
Eyes x 2 (Bottom level)
Beige yarn & 4mm hook
Ch 2
Round 1) 6 hdc in 2nd ch from hk (carry on moving stitch marker as you complete each round) (6)
Round 2) 6 hdc inc (12)
Round 3) *1 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (18)
Round 4) *2 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (24), 2 ss to finish (leave enough yarn to attach to the bib)
Orange yarn & 4mm hook
Ch 2
Round 1) 6 hdc in 2nd ch from hk (carry on moving stitch marker as you complete each round) (6)
Round 2) 6 hdc inc (12)
Round 3) *1 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 6 (18) , 2 ss to finish (leave enough yarn to attach to the bib)
Black yarn & 4mm hook
Ch 2
Round 1) 6 hdc in 2nd ch from hk, ss to join yarn. (6) (leave enough yarn to attach the pupils to the eyes).
Beak
Orange yarn & 4mm hook
Ch 8
Row 1) 1 hdc in the 3rd ch from hk, 5 hdc, ch 2, turn
Row 2) 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec, ch 2, turn
Row 3) 2 hdc dec, ch 2, turn
Row 4) 1 hdc dec, finish (leave enough yarn to attach the beak to the Bib)
Beige yarn & 4mm hook
Ch 4
Row 1) 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hk, 1 hdc, ch 2, turn
Row 2) 2 hdc inc, ch 6, turn
Row 3) miss st, 1 ss, ch 6, 1 ss, ch 6, 1 ss, finish (leave enough yarn to attach the foot to the Bib)
Attach the button & your bib is now finished. Do not leave a child under 36 months unattended with an item with a button.
