What You Doing Wednesday Week 65

I hope everyone's week is going well!

Little Red caught a tummy bug at the weekend so has been off school.
We ordered his birthday presents to be delivered
before he got ill so it's been quite stressful
trying to get the boxes off the postman and hide them
before he starts asking questions.
I am sooooo excited about his birthday.
It's not till the end of July but I wanted everything here in time.
He has asked for a power rangers power bull sword.

I couldn't believe how expensive it was for what you get.
For his other presents we've gone with an army theme.
He hasn't asked for this but I wanted something he
could role play with over the summer holidays.
I was going to get him a play camping set so he could pretend he was
camping. It was really expensive so started looking for alternatives.
We decided on an army tarpaulin,
We also got him  Kids Army Camouflage Jungle Explorer Kit

We also got him:

A t-shirt and helmet from ebay

He has also chosen:
He is going to a Safari park as his birthday treat.
He is bringing along his best friend.

I know I've bought too much for him but I really wanted to get him:
I think this is a fantastic idea for summer.
It also means I can get loads of fruit juice in him :-)

We also always get him some books for his birthdays and christmas:
He loves the Magic Tree House Books!
We've read all the books that we have so I couldn't resist getting him some more.

There is some bad news about my diet.
I can't carry on with it :-(.
I lost 5 lbs but my IBS went into free fall.
I've decided to reduce my calorie intake everyday
so that I don't have the ups and downs.
I'm hoping this means that I'll still carry on losing the weight.

Now onto what I'm making this week:
Now these slippers may look finished
but I've added some puffy paint detail.
Now I just need Little Red back into school
so that I can puff the paint up.

My lego bag is coming along

I've finally started making the Thumpback whale hat.
I'll hopefully have it for you to see on Friday.

I'm in the middle of making another square
from the Rowan's Sampler Afghan

I'm reading:
The story is based around the character Annie Ogden.
She used to be in the army and was based in Iraq.
That is where she fell in love with the love of her life Michael Garcia.
They broke up and it destroyed her.
She is now putting her life back together and things are going well.
She has a fiance and her life is sorted.
That is until her obsessive ex turns up again.
I'm only 32% into the book so you'll have to wait a while for the review.
