Laura has been kind enough to share her experience of sheering Alpaca's

The animals at Red Barn Alpacas

Early morning, before we got started

Herding the alpacas into the barn

In a holding pattern

The animals are roped in

The alpacas are shorn systematically: blanket first

Starting on the blanket: back & shoulders

Blanket coming off

Blanket fleece coming off

 

After the blanket and neck are taken off, Jamie works on the legs while Matt holds the head by the ears
