I've Made Friday Week 62

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you are all having a good week
and are looking forward to the weekend.

Dear all I am so sorry about yesterday's post.
There are a few things going on at the moment
but they will hopefully be sorted soon.
Wish I could tell you more but I can't at the moment.

Although I may have missed yesterday's post
I have still been able to make some things this week.

I purchased the Elegant Amber Dress
There is also a flower pattern with it
as well but I wanted to keep mine simple.
Below is Lisa's Design:
As you know I love Lisa's patterns.
They are so easy to follow
and they have loads of pictures to follow.
I really enjoyed making this dress!

I also finished the Baby Shell Cardigan
from the book
Cute & Easy crocheted baby clothes

This is how it shown in the book
And this is my finished cardigan
I don't know why it is showing upside down.
It won't go the right way up aaarrrggghhhh!
To be honest this pattern really frustrated me!!!!
I made my sleeves shorter as I thought it looked good as
a summer cardigan.
I found quite a number of mistakes in the pattern.
I went looking for the updates and couldn't find any.
Very frustrating.
I know we all make mistakes but you think they would
of been tested before going into print.
When I was looking for the changes I just found
loads of people complaining about other patterns within the book.
Oh well you live and learn.
It's a pity because I really love the designs in the book.
I just hate spending ages trying to figure out what the
pattern should really be.

Little Red & I also made an Owl
Now this one really hurt my head!!!
I struggled and made up part of it.
The only instructions you get are pictures of the pieces in there places
with numbers on.
This is fine when you only put one piece to one piece
but some have 14 numbers and then some of the pieces have another 10 numbers on them.
It got very confusing!
I love how he turned out!
They were on special when we went to Martin Mere
so I still have a squirrel and eagle to make.

I read this week:

Book:

Wow I loved this story.
The story is based on a young girl (16 years old)
called Riley.
Her mum died in a car accident and she survived.
She feels guilty and thinks the accident was her fault.
Since the accident she has been able to see ghosts.
Her father decides to move the family (Him, Riley and her brother)
to Scotland.
Not long after arriving at their new home Riley meets Ian MacKinnon.
From now on her life and the life of the ones around her will be changed forever.
I loved this book so much I went straight ahead and bought the next book in the series:

Book:

The story takes many twists. Riley has made friends.
She has saved Ian's soul and passed him onto heaven.
Everything seems to be all good
but then Liara the ghost that cursed Ian shows
up again!

Yet again I loved the story so as soon
as I finished this book I went straight onto reading the next book
in the series.

Liara and her evil covern are haunting Riley, her family and her friends.
The final book takes an evil twist as Riley
finds out the hard way that ghosts can hurt the living.
This is a fantastic end to the series
and brings everything together in an exciting climax!
I would give the whole of the series
5 out of 5!

Now it's your turn
It doesn't have to be crocheting
anything you've made is more than welcome!
Please try and visit at least 2 other sites
to see what other people have been making.
Can you also put the pin and link to this page
so that we can get more people joining in.
Thanks!

  1. I love the color you chose for the baby dress and sweater.

Yeah, it's frustrating when you pay good money for a book of designs and the patterns are full of errors. If I want to deal with errors, I'll just make them up myself:)

  3. I love the dress, and I enjoyed seeing your owl. I made the same owl with my son quite a few years ago, and it sat on my mantle for quite a long while. It also drove me a bit potty, but the end result was worth it.

    1. Thanks.

It would of been easier if there had been real instructions. Wish me luck for the squirrel and eagle we bought at the same time :-)
