Easter Egg Mug Cozy



Easter Egg for Mug Cozy


This is a Crochet Pattern in US Terms.
You will need the following:
Crochet Hook - size 5 mm (H)
Pink Chunky (12 ply)

1 yarn needle 
1 stitch marker
Guidelines 
HK - hook
CH - chain
SS – Slip Stitch
ST – Stitch
SC – Single crochet
SC INC – Single crochet increase – place 2 sc’s in the one stitch to increase
HDC – half double crochet
DC – Double Crochet
DC INC – Double Crochet Increase – Place 2 dc’s in the one stitch to increase.
TR – Treble Corchet
Easter Egg

Ch 5, join with a ss

Round 1) (all stitches of this round are within the ring created with chain) Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), 1 dc, 1 tr, 2 dc, 6 sc, 1 dc, join with ss to the top of the ch 2 (12)
Round 2) Ch 2, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc inc, 3 tr in the nxt st, 2 dc inc, 6 sc inc, 1 dc inc, ss to the top of the ch 2, finish (25)

Mug Cozy
     



This is a Crochet Pattern in US Terms.
You will need the following:
Crochet Hook - size 5 mm (H)
Cream Double Knit (8ply) 

1 yarn needle 
1 x 20mm Button
1 x 25mm Button  (optional)
Guidelines 
Ch 2 counts as a hdc
Ss is joined to the top of the Ch 2
HK - hook
CH - chain
SS – Slip Stitch
ST - Stitch
HDC – half double crochet
HDC INC – 2 hdc in the same stitch

Cozy

If you are making a cozy for a specific mug check sizing as you go You might not need to do as many rounds 1-6 (if you want to make the bottom smaller) & you might not need as many rounds up for the height 9 – 14.
Ch 2
Round 1) 8 hdc in 2nd ch from hk, ss to join (8)
Round 2) Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, 7 hdc inc, ss to join to top of the ch 2 (16)
Round 3) Ch 2, 2 hdc in nxt st, *1 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 7, ss to join (24)
Round 4) Ch 2, 1 hdc in nxt st, 1 hdc inc, *2 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 7, ss to join (32)
Round 5) Ch 2, 1 hdc in nxt st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc inc, *3 hdc, 1 hdc inc* x 7, ss to join (40)
Round 6) Ch 2, 39 hdc, ss to join  – in back loop only (40)
Round 7) Ch 2, 39 hdc, ss to join (40)
Round 8) Ch 2, 39 hdc, ch 2, turn (40)
Round 9 – 14) 39 hdc, ch 2, turn (40)
Round 15) Ch 2, 39 hdc, ch 7, ss back at the start of the chain to create a loop, finish 

Attach the 20mm button at the top of the gap so that the loop can fasten around the top of the mug handle.

If you would like to add appliques at different times of the year fasten the 25mm button to the centre of the cozy.
