What You Doing Wednesday Week 13

Good morning everyone!
It is beautiful and sunny here today!
Life seems so much better when the weather is nice.

The doctor has put me on steriods and I'm hoping that
it will help my asthma problems.
I did get a bit more sleep last night so things are looking up.

I was side swiped by the CFS specialist yesterday.
I have been having neuro tests as I suffer from pins and needles
in my hands, arms, legs & feet.
The specialist had sent a letter to the doctors to say nothing had appeared on the tests.
I asked to see the specialist as I wanted to know what this meant.
The specialist told me that it's good news because what ever I am
suffering from isn't bad enough to show up on the scans etc.
He did however say this doesn't mean I am not suffering from them.
I wasn't ready for that.
I thought that if the tests were negative it would just be down to my CFS.
Now I won't find out what I am suffering from,
won't be treated for it and am just left in the lurch.
I just don't know how I feel about that!

I wrote to school about the star of the week.
It turns out it is star of the day.
If a child behaves and gets on with their work,
or sets an example then they get star of the day.
That means they are telling my son that he has never done
anything on any day for the last year that deserves
star of the day.
It would be interesting to see a list of the children that have had it.
Little Red didn't take it very well when I told him
what he had to do to get the star.
He didn't want to go to school today.

Thank you for the idea Laura, we are now going to create
certificates for him at home.
He is already responding and has been getting his fossils books out and looking
up the fossils he has.

I have finished a couple of books so I will
review them on Friday :-)
I have however jumped on the bandwagon
and decided to read
Fifty Shades of Grey by
E.L.James
Kindle:

Book:

I am only 2% in so can't really tell
what I think of it yet.
This is a trilogy of books
and is a bigger selling paperback that harry potter.

I haven't done anymore work on my blankets
this week.
I have however made a couple of things
but they will have to wait till Friday.

I am making a little something for Little Red.
He has been watching avengers and really wants a Thor hammer.
We looked at them in the shop but they are £20 so
I decided I would make my own hammer.

I'll let you know how it goes :-)

Thank you to everyone who responded
to the pattern testers
request,
if you would like to be considered

  1. Oh dear you are going through the wars with your health. It must have been gutting for you when things didn't show up on the scan.
The hammer is looking good, and the hat has turned out really well.

    1. thanks ever so much! Yes It's all little reds fault. when I was pregnant with him, his hormones were too strong and my body reacted badly. i had no immune system, all my muscles went to jelly and I had a split pelvis and stomach muscles. They think I caught the CFS then as I was in and out of hospital with bronchitis and pleurisy. As it wasn't diagnosed for 4 years the doctors gave me the wrong fix. They kept trying to get me to do more exercise etc which made it worse. We are hoping with a few years to get back on track I might get a handle on the disease. I'm glad there isn't any scar tissue on the scans as that would be there for life but it bothers me that I might have something like MS and just not know.
      Thanks

  3. I just finished the 50 Shades trilogy on Monday. I really enjoyed it! Yes, the writing was kind of poor. Yes, she did repeat herself.... a lot. But the story pulled me right in, and I wanted to learn more about this man!

  5. hhmmmm I often have that prickly feeling in my hands, fingers and wrists...like they are asleep. My dr just chalked it up to carpal tunnel and didn't run any real tests. I've always felt it was bad circulation.
That Thor hammer is going to be fun to play with...I could sure see my grandkids going crazy with it!

    1. Marsha,

I had an MRI and the electrode tests but if it isn’t bad enough it won’t show up. It could be due to my CFS but it could also be MS. I have it in my legs and feet as well so they know it isn’t carpal tunnel syndrome. To be honest if they even find out what is causing it they don’t have anyway of treating it. If you have carpal tunnel they can release the nerves and stop further damage from happening.

I just hope the hammer meets his exacting expectations.

    1. Thanks ever so much. I’ll let you know how it goes and see if it meets the specific standards. There might be a hat and cape to go with it if Little Red gets his way.

  7. My favorite super hero Thor! Lucky Lil' Red :)
As for the tests coming back with nothing showing, that's par for the course for me as well with FM. My next battery of tests is coming up. EMT, really don't look forward to that. Followed by a strength test and a suppleness test to see how bad my joints move under pressure. Yippee :/
I've finished a few things, but haven't got photos up yet! Will do so soon though :)
Hope you have a good rest of the week Sue. You deserve a break and Lil' Red deserves a certificate for being a trooper.

    1. Angel,

Thanks very much! I’m curled up on the couch getting some rest.

Good luck on all your tests! They sound tiring and painful! I hope they give you some answers.

Little Red can’t wait for his hammer to be finished but he is now asking for the helmet and cape to match – kids .
